10 Best Lists to Make

Over the last couple of weeks of social distancing I have found that making lists has helped add a positive form of structure to my days and weeks. Through discussions with my friends and family I have discovered that many people feel the same way. Keeping different types of lists has helped me during this odd time feel more engaged with my daily life, and it helps prevent me from losing track of time or engaginin behaviors that may be selfdestructive. Below are the 10 best lists my friends, family, and I have made during social distancing to feel slightly more sane.

1. “The list of plagues”

This fist list is one a friend of mine made about all of the crazy things that have happened during Covid19, by adding humor to all of the craziness we have experienced it takes the edge off of the discomfort we are all feeling.

2. “Quarantine to-do list”

This is a list I made on my first day of social distancing of stuff that I want to accomplish with all of the extra free time. What you write your lists on does not matter, and using objects such as take out containers can make the list writing more of a creative endeavor. Unfortunately,as of week four of social distancing some items on this list seem impossible, such as getting to a 15-minute plank, but who knows maybe with another four weeks I might just get bored enough to try again.

3. “A list of games to learn”

This is a list one of my roommates made of games tlearn during social distancing. Ihas been a great way to keep up morale in the house, as well as to make sure we can come out of quarantine saying we did something.

4. “Regular to-do lists”

This is an example of one of my friend’s regular to-do lists. She is currently on administrative leave and finding things to do each day. She says that even crossing small stuff off of her list like brushing her dog gives her a sense of purpose through out her days.

5. “List of lost items”

This is a list one of my roommates made of the amount of times we have lost items around the house as a gentle mockery of how often we lose stuff throughout the day. find it humorous as it shows that there is still normalcy in my life during quarantine, as seen in the fact I keep losing my stuff even though I have nowhere to go.

6. “A shopping list”

This is one of the many shopping lists I have made. When I go shopping,I try to make it so that I can get enough items to make sure I go to the store as little as possible. I also try to buy stuff for my roommates and family in order to make sure they can take as few trips to the store as possible

7. “Workout list”

For my job I lead children in workouts over zoom. Before quarantine I worked as a climbing coach, and luckily,I am still employed coaching kids virtually. This workout is an example of what I have kids do over zoom to stay in shape during quarantine.

8. “My dog’s favorite toys.”

My dog has been a wonderful companion during quarantine. Not only does he help get me out of the house he also brings lots of joy to my every day life. Above is a list of his favorite toys that bring him almost as much happiness as he brings me.

9. “My roommate’s favorite plants”

This is a list of my roommate’s favorite plants. These plants add beauty to our house and make having to stay at home much more pleasant. Making lists of the beauty around your house can help break up the monotony of quarantine.

10.“The best sea wildlife Instagram pages”

One of my friends’ top passions is sea life photography. She sent me this list of her favorite Instagram accounts that feature beautiful photos that we can all look at to remember the wonder of this world.
